My baby's first Day of 2yr. school

Yes, yes, I know she has been going there all summer, but we actually had to buy school supplies, along with a backpack. My little girl is growing up so fast. I didn't get many pictures due to time constraint. Guess that just tells me I need to wake up earlier next year. Anyway, here are the pics I did take on her "first day of school."Ahh, my little girl all ready for school, with breakfast in hand. She is ready to go.Out in the parking lot of her school. She looks like she is ready with her backpack on the proper way.And off she goes to the cafeteria to meet her teacher and have breakfast. Of course we already knew who her teacher was going to be, she had her all summer long.Mackenzie and Mrs. Darla. We love her!!!

4 Years!!!!

This past Thursday, August 14th, Nathan and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. We have had a wonderful four years together, and I hope that we have an abundance of more to come. I never thought I would find someone to love me as much as he does, but truth be told, I have!!!!
We celebrated by going to Arlington to see a Texas Ranger game on Friday night. This has been our tradition since last year. We were planning on going to Austin, but with my work schedule being so unpredictable, we decided to just return to DFW. Hopefully next year we will be able to venture a little further south to Austin since I have never been, and as many of you know, I am a Longhorn fan- Hook 'em Horns!!!!
So, while in Arlington, we drove by the new Dallas Cowboy stadium as we did last year. It is so amazing how much they have done in only a year. Below are some pictures of the stadium~~

Here is an awesome picture of the stadium looking across the river.

This one is taken from the Wal-Mart parking lot which is located right across the street.

This is the other half, taken from Wal-Mart.

Before we walked to the Ballpark, we tried out a new steak house- ok, it is new to us. Let's just say that Saltgrass puts The Texas Roadhouse to shame. OMG!!!! The steaks were so delicious, you could basically cut them with a butter knife.

After our tummies were full, we went back to the hotel to relax and let our food digest. We made our looooong walk from our hotel to the Ballpark. Needless to say, if you watch baseball, our Rangers got their butts handed to them on a silver platter. Yeah, they lost big time.

Castaway Cove "08

This year's Howmet Company picnic was held at Castaway Cove again. Mackenzie really enjoyed herself this year. We quickly found out that her favorite thing was the wave pool and the lazy river. We couldn't keep her out of those. On occassion, we would venture over to the kiddie area for only a short time. Mackenzie hugging a palm tree in the kiddie area.
Here she is going down the alligator slide in the kiddie area.
Again in the kiddie area, a ship-wrecked slide aventure.
Big Splash!!!!
Floating in the lazy river.
Quick picture
Splashing in the fountain!!!
Daddy and Mackenzie going down the slide in the kiddie area.
Mommy and Mackenzie going down the same slide.
I thought this picture was really neat. It's a big mushroom with water falling from the top. Daddy and Mackenzie are on the inside looking out.

Once again, Mackenzie floating down the lazy river.

About to get the face wet.

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures of us in the wave pool. The waves never stopped, therefore we were having to hold onto the "little fish".

Happy 82nd Birthday, Nana!!!

On August 8, of this year, we went to Quanah to help celebrate my Nana's 82nd birthday. We enjoyed cake and ice cream with her. We had a really good visit while we were there. My Uncle Dean and Aunt Rita were there as well. Nana and her cake and flowers from all of the grandkids and great- granddaughters.
Nana and Mackenzie share a moment.
I love this picture!!!

Independence Day

Wow!! I know it's been a long time since I last updated the blog. I figured it was due time to do just that, being that I have to start back to work in a little over a week. So, I will pick up where I left off....

The fourth of July; a time of celebration with family. It is our tradition to accompany some of our family memebers to Lake Nocona every year for the fourth, and this year was no different. Before we headed out to the lake, we took some family photos out by the flag. God Bless the USA!!!!

I just love this picture!!! She is such a happy girl!!!

Mackenzie got to experience her first boat ride. She loved it. She sat in the back of the boat and said "Whoo-Hoo!!" pretty much the entire boat ride. I could even hear her while I was tubing. Yes, you did see that correctly. I did tube.

Mackenzie in the back of the boat.

Mackenzie and cousin Kassi in the back of the boat!!! They are just big girls!!!

Mackenzie and daddy in the front of the boat. We stopped long enough to allow Rusty to swim out to the tube. He was the first one to venture out on the rough waters.

Mackenzie and daddy again.

As I said before, Rusty was the first one to brave the choppy waves on the tube. Then, it was Nathan, and since I told Nathan that if he rode the tube, I would after he did. And so, the rest is history.

This is Rusty on the tube.

This is Nathan on the tube.

Here I am on the tube!!!

I think I am about to be thrown off the tube, being that I am almost off of it anyway!!

Ok, so back on shore. talk about being beat up by the waves. Man, was I sore. Anyway, the girls enjoyed smoke bombs and snakes (kiddie fireworks) on the banks. They also threw poppers up against the tree. They got a kick out of that.

I have to include one picture of the fireworks that we shot off. I don't know how my camera did what it did, but I thought it was pretty cool!!!
