Thanksgiving 2007

We traveled to Quanah to celebrate Thanksgiving. I actually got to take some pictures of Mackenzie with my family. Mackenzie had fun "feeding" my mom's dogs. Nathan said that she looked like a little pilgrim girl. I thought it was very fitting for today. Here are the pics, enjoy!!!! We hope everyone had a bountiful Thanksgiving.

This is Mackenzie with Nana.

ACU Homecoming

My 8 year homecoming was this year at ACU. This year, Nathan and Mackenzie took the trip with me. Mackenzie went with me to my homecoming breakfast. The breakfast was at the Bible Building on ACU's campus. After, the breakfast, there was a parade around ACU's campus. Instead of going to the rest of the festivities, we decided to take Mackenzie to the zoo. This was our first trip to the zoo. She had a blast looking at and feeding all the animals, especially the giraffe. Here are some pics from the zoo.

This is Mackenzie looking at a monkey.

This is her trying to find the "big kitty".

The Pumpkin Patch

Here is Mackenzie at the Pumpkin Patch. We decided to take her to get some "fall pictures" taken this year. She had a fun time trying to actually pick up the pumpkins.

Decorating the Pumpkin

This is Mackenzie's second Halloween; the first one where she is actually old enough to participate in decorating a pumpkin. We made it easy for her this year. We bought a pumpkin and this pumpkin kit -like a Mrs. Potatoe Head- that she just pushes the body parts into the pumpkin. We found out that it was a little harder than it looked. Daddy had to get out a screwdriver and start the holes for the body parts. Then Mackenzie did the rest. Mackenzie is so excited to get busy on decorating her pumpkin.

Ok, so we've got the feet on and the eyes. Now she needs a mouth. All divas need a mouth.

I need to get on her level, daddy. I have to put her earring on.

The finished product. Doesn't she look incredible?!?

Standing by her materpiece.

GO DAWGS!!!!

I figured that I need to get these pictures posted before football season is over. These were taken about 3 months ago.

Mackenzie is a natural born cheerleader.

I love this bulldog. Can't I take it home?

Keep on snapin' that camera.

Budding Artist

Mackenzie loves to color. She is little Miss Independent when it comes to coloring. She doesn't want any help coloring. Here are a few snapshots of her coloring her "Princess"page.

Mackenzie hard at work.

Must be on top of the table to color.

Yep!!! Masterpiece!!!

Helping Mommy

This is Mackenzie's first time to help mommy "bake a cake." She sat in her highchair and waited patiently for the bowl and beaters to lick. She is my little sweet cakes.

Oh, can't wait any longer, must have the batter.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! So good!!

Mommy, can I have the bowl now?

Oh, this is so good.

Feeding the ducks part duex

We took Mackenzie back to feed the ducks. And again, she loved it. This time we took a whole loaf of bread. The only problem was that she would basically throw the whole piece of bread, and she couldn't figure out why the ducks weren't eating it.

Here are some more of the pics of her feeding the ducks and then just shots of her.

Actual new job

Well, as many of you know, my kindergarten job fell through due to low numbers. But it turns out that there was a fourth grade position open. It was offered to me on Labor Day and I took it. I am the new fourth grade teacher at Tower Elementary in Burkburnett. It's not as close as Hardin, but at least it's in Burk. I am so excited to actually be teaching. I will be teaching language arts, spelling, and writing. I have 18 students. I was given a week to get my room in order. I am off and running tomorrow morning. Thanks to everyone for their encouragement and support.

3 Year Anniversary

Nathan and I celebrated our three year wedding anniversary this past weekend. (Our actual anniversary is August 14th). We went to Arlington to a Ranger game. We stayed at the hotel that is within walking distance to Ameriquest Field; and yes we did walk. While in Arlington, we ate a Pappaduex Seafood. I ventured in getting the lobster tail and Nathan got the seafood platter, which had pretty much a little bit of everything on it. We had a great time just getting away. Also, we saw the new Dallas Cowboy stadium in the making. It is going to be huge.

In addition, on our actually anniversary, we went our to eat at Texas Roadhouse. We had a great anniversary.

Helping Hand

Mackenzie loves helping around the house and anytime she can be outside and help, the happier she is. Here are a couple of pics of her lending a helping hand to daddy.

Summer Fun

Saturday was a fun filled day at Castaway Cove Water Park. It was Nathan's company annual picnic. Mackenzie had so much fun, surprisingly enough. I was taken aback when she loved going down the slides and splashing in the kiddy pool.
